Brian Shrull is the Sports Director at KAUZ Channel 6.

 

He grew up in Richardson, Texas, came to Oklahoma State for the sports media program and it was the best decision he ever made. His biggest piece of advice is to do the same thing that he did, get involved early and often. Try things out, find what you are passionate about and dive deep. He learned that he loved videography and editing and that led him to the TV side of sports media. 

Because of his experience and the hands-on learning of the program, he walked in on his first day pretty much knowing what to do. 

 

He leaves you with this advice:  "This field is competitive so be ready to apply to a lot of jobs and be willing to move where you need to. If you are closed off to moving for a job, then you are closing yourself off to a lot of other opportunities."
