Chase Shannon started his career at KTEN in Denison, Texas and spent four years there before heading to Fox 16 in Little Rock, Arkansas for a year as a weekend sports anchor and then took a job at KAKE in Wichita, Kansas where here was the sports director for two years. He's spent the last year and a half at the NBC and Fox affiliates in San Antonio getting to cover the Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, UTSA as well as Texas High School football.
Shannon said "The Sports Media program at Oklahoma State was an absolute blessing for me. The hands on experience you get prepares you to take that first step into your broadcasting career. It's a big family in the Paul Miller building. Professors who care about their students, classmates who end up becoming industry friends and the opportunities you get are invaluable."
He leaves you with this advice: "Take full advantage of your time. It's a lot more that just going to class. Work for the school paper, go out and shoot stories, seek advice from professors and make sure to intern."
