Emma Stamps is the Weekend Sports anchor for News 13 WMBB

She is from Hendersonville, TN and came to OSU just for the sports media program. There are several benefits form graduating from Oklahoma State. She benefit's daily from all of the different types of journalism they had to study. Although the general reporting class was her hardest course, she wouldn’t be able to do her job today without it. Although Stamps is an anchor and reporter, she has to write her own web articles in AP style everyday. She also benefited from OSU's sports reporting capstone where it was preached to her that local leads. That couldn’t be more true and it’s what the viewers want.

She leaves you with this: Try everything and see which area you like best. The only way you know is if you try.
Stay dedicated to your studies and projects, those late nights in the journalism building will prepare you for the long hours as a reporter.
Take part in several live and taped shows and perform every role both on and off air. If you’re involved in other aspects of campus life such as Greek Life find any opportunity to use your multi media skills in those organizations too.
