Kelli is an Assistant Director of Football Brand Communications at the University of Wisconsin.
The Dallas native says she has seen first hand the benefits of the program: "I feel like I had an edge that very few people in my line of work have. I had the advantage of holding a sport-specific communications degree and that gave me a leg up. I had specialized training that so many others did not receive. In addition, I had incredible opportunities that were available to me as a student that gave me the hands-on experience that I needed to show that I was ready to enter in the field upon graduation."
She leaves you with this: "Try everything. Get involved in as much as you can because even a small amount of experience in anything could be something that makes you stand out. On a cheesy note, get close to your professors and fellow students. The professors are there to help you find your way in life and I can’t tell you how much of an impact each one had on me. Some of the friends I made through the tears of all-night study sessions or group projects are some of my closest friends to this day that I still talk to often and go to for advice."
