Reece Van Haaften is the Sports Director at WSAW News Channel 7

Reece has lived all around the Midwest, but he grew up in Chaska, Minnesota. He has also called Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Michigan, South Dakota and Wisconsin home. The place that sticks out the most is Stillwater, Oklahoma. That’s where he was able to get a sports media degree and start his career. During his time at Oklahoma State, Reece was able to make some of the best friends. If it wasn’t for Oklahoma State’s sports media program, he wouldn’t be able to cover the special events he is able to be a part of now, which includes covering the Packers, Bucks, Brewers and Badgers.

Reece leaves you with this: "For those choosing to work in sports media you truly get what you put in. If you want to be lazy, that’s fine, but you will not make it. Unfortunately, the days of being a fan are over the minute you choose this industry. Your love for the game will still exist, but you’ll view it from an unbiased/work angle. Lastly, cherish your moments away from sports with the people you love because you don’t realize how important those people and moments really are until they are few and far between."
